The Boikarabelo coal project will develop an open pit mining operation and a Coal Handling and Preparation Plant (CHPP) which will produce 3 Mt/a of thermal coal for the export market and a further 3 Mt/a of thermal coal for the domestic market at typical Eskom energybased specifications of Mj/kg.
